Cerros del Aguila, is our first choice for future property hotspots here in the Costa del Sol. Located minutes above Fuengirola and a gladiator’s throw from La Cala de Mijas, surrounded by endless mountain and sea views, is there a better location that offers such value? We believe nothing can come close, and we ask that you read on.
When most of us think of a Spanish home, bet that for vacation or permanent life, we often jump to the idea of a sea view. This in most cases is the dream. The reality is very different come summer and when tourists arrive. Sea views are usually not so great for swift mobility, unwanted noise, seasonal restaurant pricing, next to zero parking and increased activity from the hustle and bustle of those enjoying themselves. Whilst a sea view is on most buyers wish lists, the reality is far from ideal. Therefore, having a quality sea view without the downsides mentioned is for this writer, a unicorn, the unobtainable.
Not so with Cerros del Aguila, 5 mins from the coast and if you were to time yourself from the moment you left your property to the moment you placed foot on the nearest beach, you’d be closer to 10 minutes than 15. That includes parking your car in an undercover and free (yes, no charge) car park. For most, Cerros residents enjoy views of the sea and of the mountains, hideaway villages and of a sizeable amount of the costa del sol coastline. Cerros has it all. Sea views are nice. Sea views with panoramic vista and mountain views are better.
Being 25 mins from Malaga airport has its advantages as does a 5 min run into Fuengirola’s much loved shopping development, Myramar and less than a 10 min drive to the beach side resorts of La Cala and El Castillo. Does this get any better? Yes, it does. Twenty-five mins to Marbella, 30 mins or a titch more to Puerto Banus and Tarifa hour and a half. Home run!
Those looking for golf, stay where you are. Cerros is home to Cerrado del Aguila, a lovely, picturesque, and challenging nine-hole course which close to 500 google reviewers state is a 4.3 out of five. In the local area, there are five immediate courses, two of which PGA standard (read big boy pants) challenges, plus many coastal courses within 30 mins. Golf? Cerros does golf, and boy does it do it well.
In addition to this awesome location, the great views, tranquil peace a golf course brings, Cerros is also home to the Hippodrome equestrian centre where you can enjoy your love of horses and the outdoor life. Multiple cycle and walking trails are well placed throughout the urbanization. Do you want more? We think you do.
In most cases, areas that provide the natural and manmade features and facilities of Cerros will demand higher than average property pricing, again, sorry to disappoint, but not here. A nicely appointed one bedroom apartment with views, facilities and of a good size are valued from €170,000 and up. A stunning penthouse apartment with huge outdoor terrace and views to die for, around €440,000.
In and around the Cerros area, there is a wide and varied amount of new build, off plan, villas and townhouses, front line golf properties and some real gems. Most budgets are catered for. There’s opportunity for several car parking spaces, super large terraces, peaceful and well-manicured communal gardens, with pool(s) obviously and good-sized storage across all types of properties.
